“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Will for some time, and my respect for him has only grown. Will, along with Jimmy, are the managers at 5 Speed Auto Repair, and their integrity, professionalism, and leadership set the tone for the entire shop. Together, they lead one of the best teams in Houston.
From the moment you walk in, you know this is not your average repair shop. The front office is spotless and inviting, and the shop itself is organized and well-kept. Will and Jimmy have built a culture where every technician treats your vehicle like it belongs to their own family—always putting safety first.
I recently brought my vehicle in for a squealing belt. Instead of just fixing that, Will offered a complete Preventive Maintenance Inspection to ensure my car was safe for my family. During that inspection, Jimmy’s team found a serious safety concern I didn’t even know existed. They invited me into the shop, showed me the exact problem, and explained it in clear terms. If I hadn’t stopped by that day, my family and I would have gone on our trip unaware of the danger.
The repair was completed in under two hours, and I waited comfortably in their front office, which felt more like a living room than a waiting area. That level of honesty, care, and efficiency is hard to find.
Will, Jimmy, and the entire 5 Speed Auto Repair team have earned my complete trust. They go above and beyond for every customer, and I wouldn’t take my vehicles anywhere else. If you want a shop with skill, integrity, and genuine customer care—this is the place.”

“I came in with a bad alternator due to my power steering line leaking onto my alternator. I asked for best case and worse case scenario (cost). Best case scenario was $330 and worse case was $1,100.
These gentlemen here kept their word and tightened up a bolt for me to stop the leak.
I walked out paying the BEST CASE SCENARIO. They could have easily told me the line was broken, or something else. BUT NO!
They were completely honest, and I was glad to walk out paying the $330.
Great group of mechanics And sales reps.
Thanks Will, and Jimmy.
KUDOS! 💪🏼🙏🏼”

“We were loyal customers for all 4 of our vehicles for over 8 years when Chris managed this shop. Fair pricing, stood behind their work, excellent customer service. Unfortunately, that’s ancient history.
Since Rubin took over, the experience has been a nightmare. I paid $3,800+ for electrical work on my antique car (1989 Mazda MX-6 Turbo), and problems keep multiplying:
Battery Bait-and-Switch: I brought in a brand-new TOP-OF-THE-LINE AGM Optima battery from O’Reilly’s - the kind designed for multiple discharge cycles that my high-performance car needs. They left the ignition switch disengaged (the very problem they were supposed to fix), which killed my premium battery. Nick promised to maintain it - they didn’t.
Now Rubin wants to replace MY expensive battery with a bare minimum Interstate battery that won’t handle my car’s electrical demands. He’s acting like he’s doing ME a favor when THEY destroyed my brand-new battery through negligence. Then he claimed he’d call O’Reilly’s to help - ghosted me completely, now pretends that conversation never happened.
Car Returned in Unacceptable Condition:
∙ Windshield filthy, couldn’t see through it
∙ Backseat completely disconnected
∙ Wires hanging everywhere
∙ Screws/washers scattered throughout
∙ Radio disconnected and non-functional
The Real Issue: Changed ignition, didn’t fix door lock (need 2 keys now). Door lock fell inside door. Gauge cluster doesn’t work - can’t monitor speed, fuel, or temperature. Story keeps changing: ignition problem, then radio, then “your car has electrical issues.”
Wait - I paid you $3,800 to FIX the electrical issues. If my battery keeps dying, you didn’t fix anything. Now Rubin has selective amnesia about every promise made.
This shop went from reliable to predatory. Buyer beware.”

“Paid $115 I should dispute, for a full inspection that they did in 5mins! Told me I had a oil leak it wasnt bad just dripping on gasget but wasnt going in anything and needed brakes! Claim to checked all the fluids but they did not.
And said brakes were bad and gave me a qoute!
The qoute wasnt bad but I was never paying it, I was taking it back to the lot.
Car lot said there was no leak and so on!
Went to another shop, where they removed the bottom shield which this shop did not do and thoroughly checked every, and there was no oil leak just oil spill residue. And they showed me EVERYTHING.
They also connected a machine ran it for codes.
Said my brakes were fine! The inspection was bout 45mins-1hr as they went through everything. Even checked my lights wipers everything
This is what you pay $115 and they only chargef $89
This shop was a rip off!”
